ROMAN CENTURION
ROMAN CENTURION
Item: SR71969
Bronzed Resin Statue finished by hand in each particular detail.
The centurion was the intermediate rank of office in the Roman army, which defined the head of a centuria, a unit of the Roman legion which included between approximately 60 and 100 men. It was the first degree of a military career, in fact young aristocrats (even without any previous war experience) often started their rise in the military world from here. The centurion was almost always on the front line during a battle, as an example of courage for the rest of his legion, as they were more frequently exposed to the risk of being killed. Their characteristic uniform included the crest on the helmet and the gladius which they held high to be followed by their faithful companions.
