CUPID & PSYCHE by Antonio Canova (white style) (small size)
CUPID & PSYCHE by Antonio Canova (white style) (small size)
Item: SRB77377
White resin Statue finished by hand in each particular detail.
“Cupid and Psyche” is one of the most famous statues by the sculptor Antonio Canova, created approximately between 1787 and 1793 and currently exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris, while a second copy (always by the same sculptor) is exhibited at the Museum Hermitage in St. Petersburg in Russia. This statue, very elegant and sensual, represents Psyche, a mortal woman of such exceptional beauty that she can be compared to Venus, as she embraces her husband Love-Cupid, despite the fact that she herself is unaware of her identity, since Cupid appears by himself in the darkness of the night.
